What is Aloe Vera?

Often called the “Miracle Plant” or the “Natural Healer”, Aloe Vera is the plant of many surprises.

It flourishes in warm and dry climates, and many people mistake it for a cactus, but, in fact it is a member of the lily family.

It stays moist where other plants would wilt and die, closing its pores to prevent the loss of moisture.

There are over 200 varieties of Aloes, but is the Aloe Barbadensis Miller (Aloe Vera) plant which has been of most use to mankind because of its medicinal properties.

Ancient records show that the benefits of Aloe Vera have been known for centuries.  Its therapeutic advantages and healing properties have survived more than 5000 years.

George Elbers first discovered its antiquity in 1862, in an Egyptian papyrus dated 1500 BC.

Greek and Roman physicians used it to great effect as a medicinal herb.

Researches have also found the ancient Chinese and Indian cultures used Aloe Vera. Egyptian Queens used it in their quest for physical beauty, whilst in the Philippines it is used with milk for kidney infections.

Aloes also are referred to in the Bible, and legend suggests that Alexander the Great even conquered the island of Socotra in the Indian Ocean, so that he had a supply of Aloes available to treat the battle wounds of his soldiers.

However, rapid improvement of the documented medical science in the western world, and the movement towards less temperate climates, led to a decline in the popularity and availability of Aloe Vera and it fell into disuse.

Drink Aloe Vera and Improve your lifestyle

For many centuries, aloe vera has been used for its healing properties and health benefits by numerous civilisations around the world.

Now, you can enjoy those benefits in four healthy varieties of fresh, stabilised aloe vera gel through our selection of drinks - Aloe Vera Gel; Aloe Berry Nectar; Forever Aloe Bits n’ Peaches; and Forever Freedom. Although taken as a drink, aloe vera gel is better described as a liquid dietary food.

It contains over 75 different natural nutrients, providing a rich supplement to healthy nutrition. No one quite knows why aloe is as powerful as it is in addressing a number of conditions, but it may be the balance of nutrients as much as the nutrients themselves.

Aloe works with our immune system, replenishing the nutrients as required.

Drinking any one of the four options on a daily basis assists digestion and absorption of nutrients, adds vitamins, minerals and amino acids to your diet, but above all, promotes a good, healthy lifestyle.

Aloe Drinking gel    The primary ingredient of all four varieties is raw aloe vera gel.

Added to this are only the minimum amount of extra ingredients needed to stabilise the gel according to our patented processes.
Some aloe producers begin their ingredient lists with ‘stabilised aloe vera gel’, and do not list the items added to turn their raw gel into stabilised gel.

At Forever, we are confident of our processes, proud of our track record and pleased to give information to our Customers.
